Golf It! made the Indoor Golf News this week. A brand new facility to is set to open in Glasgow next Summer. As reported in Golfshake “The R&A has unveiled further details about its hugely impressive golf facility that will open in Glasgow next summer, which has been named Golf It! and is based on the south bank of Hogganfield Loch, following the redevelopment of the former Lethamhill golf course.”
This shows how popular the indoor and adventure golf industry is getting, it’s bound to bring hundreds of new golfers to the game. Martin Slumbers, Chief Executive of The R&A, said “It marks a significant commitment by The R&A to re-establish the sport’s roots in the heart of Scotland and take golf into communities that may never have seen it as a viable, family-friendly activity before.” Well done The R&A!
Built by Greenspan Projects who have a great track record in building exciting golf facilities, as you’ll see further below in the indoor golf news. A spokesperson said: “We love building relationships with partners who are as equally passionate about adventure golf. We are therefore delighted to be working on the build of the three adventure golf courses for Golf It! and can’t wait to see the positive impact this venue will have on transcending the game and introducing it to communities who may not have had access to it before.”
With Golf It! set to have three adventure golf courses, driving range, easy equipment hire, Park Golf pitch and putt and a family putting green what do you think , is this the type of investment needed in the industry?
Rhys Gregory from Wales247 made the indoor golf news this week after recently reviewing the latest adventure golf venue – with a twist.
This isn’t your usual indoor golf course – this one is 500ft below the ground!
Located beneath Zip World in Llechwedd, you’ll have to decend via Europes steepest cable railway to get there.
Built and designed by Greenspan Projects, Richard Paget, senior architect at Greenspan said, “Essentially, they wanted to create something with impact. I think we certainly did that, right from the initial concept presentation, which was hand drawn sketches, through the design development, and delivered something special.”
The 18-hole course is located across four floors and has been creatively designed using old mining equipment and memorabilia. This sounds amazing and I can’t wait to visit. It’s this type of innovations which is making indoor golf such an exciting industry at the moment!

Looking for ways to entice new visitors to your Indoor Golf Venue – why not come up with a quirky cocktail like at the Lost City Adventure Golf. This mini golf bar in Hull, East Yorkshire is serving up chip spice cocktails!
As reported online in The Yorkshireman, “Based in St Stephen’s in Hull, the jungle-themed mini-gold centre Lost City Adventure Golf has more than just its amazing 18-hole course. They also serve up freshly made pizza and cocktails with a Caribbean Twist.”
This shows how important food and drinks are in the indoor golf industry. You can have an amazing venue, but you’ll also need to consider the social element. We think this cocktail based on the American Chip Spice which is synonymous with Hull sounds amazing!
